May 29th 2021, folks from Northern BC and a far will gather virtually to celebrate diversity and inclusion. Smithers Pride has had attendees travel as far as Prince Rupert and Fort St John. Every year the number of guests in attendance has doubled. This speaks volumes to the need for 2SLGBTQ+ events, education, community support and participation. There is much work left to be done but each year we get a little closer to becoming a town that welcomes and supports all people.
